Why Our Denver History Tour?

Unlike many other history tours available at these price points, we actually take you into the buildings for the tour & get you special access! We also have deals negotiated with Mile High Spirits (which is where the tour ends), so you can enjoy some of the best cocktails & spirits the Mile High City has to offer.

Oh…and did we mention there’s whiskey involved? Cause we meant to…

A Little About Denver’s History

Started in 1858 as a mining town, the gold rush for Denver was short and sweet. However, with such great strategic location, it quickly became a hub for supplies & travelers headed west. Later Denver became the state capitol and in 1901 the Capitol building was built. The Silver Boom, Prohibition, the Great Depression & the World Wars all had profound effects on Denver’s economy and culture. This tour gives you a glimpse into the different segments of history that built our unique & now quickly growing city.

El Chapultepec, also Known as The Pec, is One of the Premier Jazz Bars in the World. Here we Enjoy Some Good Whiskey & Spirits, and Usually Some Good Mexican Food.

*El Chapultepec means “hill of grasshoppers” in Spanish.  For those daring souls we provide the opportunity to take the famous “El Chapultepec Shot” while we are there.  It is a shot of Silver Tequila, and Creme De Mint, with a real dehydrated grasshopper floating on top.  We know this might not sound appetizing to some, but trust us it’s good!

We took our most popular tour, and hit the road to explore Denver’s most unique historic places, and taste the beautiful range of Colorado craft whiskey.

Tour Starts at Denver’s Historic Union Station (Meet outside, front & center – next to the flag pole & historic markers)

Join Rick for a private tour of our prestigious train depot.  If it wasn’t for the line out of Cheyenne, stretching to this small western frontier town, Denver would be a ghost town.

NEXT STOP: EL CHAPULTEPEC

Not easy to pronounce, but “The Pec” as we call it, is a legendary Jazz bar.  Originally, just a Mexican Cantina when it opened in 1933, but has since hosted the best Jazz musicians in American History.

El Chapultepec--Denver's Whiskey & Spirits Tour

El Chapultepec, also Known as The Pec, is One of the Premier Jazz Bars in the World. Here we Enjoy Some Good Whiskey & Spirits, and Usually Some Good Mexican Food.

We make a short stop here, and learn about the Jazz legends that have graced the stage, and we know you are thirsty for more whiskey, so it’s time to enjoy a Pec favorite, sweet Colorado bourbon!

NEXT STOP: 5-POINTS

Come explore the heart of Denver’s historic Beats Neighborhood, and enjoy another tasty Denver-made whiskey.  5-points has an amazing history.  Not only did Mammy from the Gone with the Wind, live here, but James Brown performed, and Jack Kerouac wrote.  In honor of the great writer, we will have a drink ourselves, and only the best post-prohibition/5-Points, bourbon will do.

NEXT STOP: PATTERSON INN

Most of the time hauntings are nothing like what we see in the movies. The Patterson Inn is the exception, and it is truly unexplainable why this place is so evil. We stop here tell the tale, and enjoy whiskey from Colorado’s first legal micro distillery.  After all that whiskey maybe you will even see some ghosts.

TOUR ENDS: UNION STATION

Don’t like whiskey? We’ve got you covered.  The bus comes fully stocked with beer, and honey wine!
